Steph Black (aka Steph the Archaeologist) is a public archaeologist, historian, and creator of the viral ‘Sad Girl’ style of digital short-form video content. Passionate about engaging younger audiences, she transforms complex historical narratives into emotionally resonant stories for social media. Currently in her third year as a PhD researcher at Durham University, in 2024 her innovative method of public engagement earned her a highly commended recognition for the CBA Public Presentation or Dissemination Award.
