Join author Amy Jeffs and musician Natalie Brice under the Chalke Valley stars for a performance of original songs exploring the astonishing and marvellous world of medieval saints. First composed by Amy and Natalie for a sell-out evening at Cheltenham Literature Festival, the music celebrates Amy’s latest book Saints: Medieval Legends of Heroes, Humans and Magic. Each engaging contemporary folksong follows historical introductions and readings by Amy. The evening will shine a light on the poignancy, politics, violence, beauty and pilgrim-driven power of the medieval cult of saints, as well as its cast of hermits, giants and dragon-slaying virgins, still enthralling to this day.
