GuildhallTalks & Discussion
Join us for a fascinating conversation with BAFTA-winning director, writer and producer Peter Kosminsky, whose extraordinary career spans some of the most powerful and thought-provoking dramas on British television. Part of the Institute of Historical Research’s Conversations on History public lecture series, this event explores how the past has informed and inspired Kosminsky’s creative journey.
Best known to many for his masterful adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall and The Mirror and the Light, Kosminsky brings history vividly to life, with a meticulous attention to detail and a deep sensitivity to character and political complexity. The Wolf Hall series – a standout in British historical drama – received widespread critical acclaim, earning multiple awards including BAFTAs for Best Drama and Best Actor, a Golden Globe, and a Peabody Award.
This is a unique opportunity to hear Peter discuss not only Wolf Hall but also his wide-ranging body of work, from The Promise and Britz to The Government Inspector and The Undeclared War – all shaped by a passion for truth, justice and historical relevance.
