Georgia Heneage, an obituary writer for The Times, and Alice Loxton, author of Eighteen: A History of Britain in 18 Young Lives, discuss different approaches to recording the lives of historical figures. Heneage and Loxton will untangle the distinctions between biography and obituary, and the challenges which come with each. How do we approach writing about historical figures from centuries past, where the source material is scarce, compared to those who have recently died, with friends and family still alive and a legacy still unfolding?
