A teenage girl lies awake, staring at the ceiling, hoping it won’t collapse. A young student dreams of visiting libraries he has only seen in pictures. Another walks the streets of Gaza, sketching the buildings she longs to restore. These are the voices of a generation born under blockade and occupation – young people who have faced unimaginable loss yet continue to dream, create, and fight to be seen as more than just statistics. Ahmed Alnaouq shares stories from We Are Not Numbers, a powerful project amplifying the lived experiences of Gaza’s youth. With moving readings by Palestinian students, this session offers a rare and vital glimpse into the resilience, aspirations, and humanity of a people too often reduced to headlines. This is a chance to listen, to bear witness, and to see Gaza not as a conflict zone, but as a place of life, hope, and unbreakable spirit.
