Peter Kosminsky

Peter Kosminsky has worked as a freelance drama director since 1995. TV dramas include No Child of Mine by Guy Hibbert, (BAFTA Best Single Drama), WARRIORS by Leigh Jackson, (BAFTA Best Drama Serial), and the TV serialisation of the Hilary Mantel, Booker Prize winning Wolf Hall for BBC2, (Golden Globe, Peabody, BAFTA Best Drama, BAFTA Best Actor) and, most recently, The Mirror and the Light, starring Sir Mark Rylance, Damian Lewis and Timothy Spall. Programmes as a writer/director include The Government Inspector about the death of biological weapons inspector Dr David Kelly, (BAFTAs for Best Single Drama, Best Actor (Mark Rylance) and Best Writer), Britz – a two part drama about being second generation Muslim in Britain today, (BAFTA for Best Drama Serial), The Promise, a four-part drama about Israel/Palestine, (BAFTA Nomination for Best Drama Serial), The State for C4 and National Geographic in the US, which tells the story of British Muslims who travel to Syria to join the Islamic State, (BAFTA Nomination for Best Drama Serial) and The Undeclared War for C4 and NBC/Universal, a cautionary tale about cyber warfare. Kosminsky is a former member of the BAFTA TV Committee and the BFI Board of Governors and a fellow of the Royal Television Society. Kosminsky has been awarded a BAFTA Lifetime Award for Outstanding Creative Contribution to TV.
