David Miles has worked on five continents and now lives in Kent and the Cevennes, France. Before retiring he was the Director of Oxford Archaeology, and Chief Archaeologist, English Heritage. He has appeared on many radio and tv programmes and is the author of Tribes of Britain, Tale of the Axe and The Land of the White Horse. He is currently working again on the Uffington White Horse.
