Michael Palin has written and starred in numerous TV programmes and films, and made several much-acclaimed travel documentaries, travelling to both North and South Poles, the Sahara, Himalayas, Eastern Europe, Brazil and Nigeria. His books include accounts of his journeys, two novels, four volumes of diaries, Erebus and Great Uncle Harry. He has been president of the RGS and received a BAFTA fellowship in 2013, and a knighthood in 2019.
