George Lasry

Dr. George Lasry is a computer scientist and a member of the DECRYPT and CrypTool projects, specializing in deciphering historical ciphers. He has cracked German ciphers from the WWI and WWII, papal and French ciphers from the Renaissance, secret encoded messages from the 1967-1970 Nigerian Civil War, and dozens of other ciphers. In 2022, he led the team which discovered and deciphered more than fifty letters from Mary Stuart previously thought to have been lost, and considered to be the most important new find on Mary, Queen of Scots, for 100 years.
